Singer Lee Sang-mi announced that she will undergo surgery for a glomerular tumor.
On the 24th, Lee Sang-mi shared her current situation on SNS, saying, "I will soon have the surgery that I have postponed for 15 years." She continued, "Even a light touch on the tip of my left hand hurts, and if I bump it wrong, it feels like my hand will really be cut off, but I just let it go and forgot about it. This has been the case since 15 years ago. There was a tumor under the root of my nail. A glomerular tumor. I just found out now," she explained, drawing attention.
Lee Sang-mi also added, "The professor said he has never seen a patient who has waited this long, and that the tumor has grown too much and has invaded the bone, but fortunately, it seems I won't need a bone graft. That's good news. Thank you."
She continued, "I was admitted yesterday, and they said I would have surgery around 1 PM today, but it's 1:21 and I haven't received a call yet, so I'm nervous. I've been fasting since last night, so I'm very hungry, but I want to get it over with quickly." She urged, "If you feel pain, go to the hospital quickly. Especially for those who have pain under their nails, an X-ray will show it right away."
Lee Sang-mi mentioned that she is posting on SNS to seek comfort, saying, "Since my husband is taking care of the kids while I am alone in Seoul without a guardian, I am even more nervous," which evoked sympathy.
Meanwhile, Lee Sang-mi entered the entertainment industry by winning the grand prize at the MBC College Song Festival in 2005 with the song "Please Take Care of Me" as a member of the group Ex. In 2019, she married a non-celebrity company employee who is four years younger than her.
