In 'Ask the Stars', Lee Min-ho and Gong Hyo-jin opened a new chapter in bed scenes with a bold space bed scene.

In the episode aired on the 26th, the tvN weekend drama 'Ask the Stars' (written by Seo Suk-hyang, directed by Park Shin-woo) featured Gong Hyo-jin and Lee Min-ho sharing deep love while facing life-and-death situations in space.

On that day, to save the dinosaur (played by Lee Min-ho) isolated in space, Captain Eve Kim (played by Gong Hyo-jin) donned a spacesuit and exited the astronaut transport ship despite the debris clouds returning. The dinosaur, watching this, shouted for her to go back, but Eve Kim returned to where the dinosaur was.

After confirming that they were both safe, the two embraced tightly and shed tears of relief. In particular, amidst the crisis, Eve Kim realized that her heart was finally directed towards the dinosaur and accepted his confession by saying, “Let’s date, on Earth,” before they kissed.

However, the dinosaur and Eve Kim ended up trapped in the space station, and Eve Kim turned off all machines except for the life support system to conserve power, during which the dinosaur secretly took the fertilized egg that had grown into a morula.

Meanwhile, as their bodies grew cold from the drop in temperature, they endured the cold by tightly embracing each other in a thermal tent. The dinosaur confessed to Eve Kim that the purpose of coming to space was for human artificial insemination and that the successfully fertilized egg had become a morula, to which Eve Kim replied, “I don’t even have the energy to be angry.” Contrary to the dinosaur's expectation that she would be angry, Eve Kim referred to the morula as a person and said, “I hope it is born healthy,” which touched the dinosaur's heart.

Even facing death, the emotions overwhelmed the two. Eve Kim said, “It’s warmer when you take it off,” and the dinosaur approached her, saying, “It’s fine to freeze to death, before I die.”

The bed scene that day caught attention with its stunning background, utilizing various computer graphics (CG) technologies. It was a moment that somewhat confirmed the 50 billion won production cost.

Nevertheless, the viewership rating for 'Ask the Stars' that aired that day remained at 2.2% (Nielsen Korea cable nationwide), failing to create an opportunity for a turnaround.

In romance dramas, the chemistry and excitement between the male and female lead actors must be conveyed to the viewers for success, but such chemistry and excitement are still not visible between Lee Min-ho and Gong Hyo-jin. There are also criticisms that the bigger issue lies in the storyline, which fails to engage the audience before the performances of the two actors.

Once one of the most anticipated dramas for 2025, 'Ask the Stars' has now aired half of its 16 episodes, but there are no signs of revival.
