Kim Tae-won from 'Joseon's Love Fool' is at risk of missing his daughter's wedding due to a drug conviction from 40 years ago.
On the episode of TV Chosun's 'Joseon's Love Fool' aired on the 27th, Kim Tae-won expressed his affectionate yet anxious feelings about his daughter Seo-hyun, who is about to have an international marriage.
On that day, with the help of his close friend Kim Gook-jin, Kim Tae-won had a video call with his daughter Seo-hyun, who is studying music in the United States. She was with her boyfriend Devin.
Kim Tae-won confided to Kim Gook-jin, "I have a feeling that my daughter is going to get married. I feel like I need to see it in person, but I can't get a visa because of my marijuana conviction from 40 years ago."
Seo-hyun's fiancé Devin works in software design and development and is said to be a top talent in the industry. When asked about Seo-hyun, Devin confessed, "We met through a dating app, and the moment I saw her, I decided to marry her. I even jokingly proposed on our first meeting."
Seo-hyun moved to Devin's studio after living in Harlem, as anti-Asian hate crimes became frequent during the pandemic. She realized that they could live well even in a small space and thought, "I can get married."
As his daughter approached marriage, Kim Tae-won sincerely expressed, "I hope you live happily. I hope you both remain unchanged forever and become comrades who protect each other during difficult times." Devin promised, "I will protect Seo-hyun forever."
Later, Kim Tae-won learned that his wife had opposed their daughter's wedding in Korea. However, when Seo-hyun expressed her desire to walk down the aisle holding her father's hand, he persuaded her, saying, "Let's have a wedding in Korea too."
