BLACKPINK has secured the top spot in the star brand reputation rankings.
According to the Korea Corporate Reputation Research Institute, the big data analysis results for star brand reputation in January 2025 showed BLACKPINK in first place, Lim Young-woong in second, and BTS in third.
The Korea Corporate Reputation Research Institute measured a total of 293,672,454 pieces of star brand big data from December 29, 2024, to January 29, 2025, analyzing consumer behavior to assess participation index, media index, communication index, and community index for star brands. This represents a 10.60% decrease compared to the 328,502,574 pieces of star brand big data from December.
The star brand reputation analysis targets brands in the top ranks among entertainers, singers, trot singers, drama actors, movie actors, boy groups, girl groups, and sports figures, using a big data reputation algorithm to analyze relationships with consumers. The star brand reputation index includes a recommendation index as a weighted factor.
The brand of BLACKPINK (Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, Lisa), which ranked first, had a participation index of 269,254, media index of 1,019,737, communication index of 3,249,793, and community index of 5,996,338, resulting in a brand reputation index of 10,535,122. This is a 30.83% decrease compared to the brand reputation index of 15,230,703 in December.
The brand of Lim Young-woong, which ranked second, had a participation index of 934,360, media index of 1,288,866, communication index of 2,741,951, and community index of 3,248,544, resulting in a brand reputation index of 8,213,721. This is a 10.14% decrease compared to the brand reputation index of 9,140,823 in December.
The brand of BTS (RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, Jungkook), which ranked third, had a participation index of 166,934, media index of 1,770,149, communication index of 2,302,163, and community index of 2,819,079, resulting in a brand reputation index of 7,058,326. This is a 0.25% increase compared to the brand reputation index of 7,040,380 in December.
The brand of Son Heung-min, which ranked fourth, had a participation index of 1,224,232, media index of 1,571,374, communication index of 1,861,710, and community index of 2,000,731, resulting in a brand reputation index of 6,658,047. This is a 25.11% decrease compared to the brand reputation index of 8,890,378 in December.
The brand of SEVENTEEN (S.Coups, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, DK, Mingyu, Dokyeom, Seungkwan, Vernon, Dino), which ranked fifth, had a participation index of 299,550, media index of 1,059,228, communication index of 1,946,020, and community index of 2,017,017, resulting in a brand reputation index of 5,321,815. This is a 39.03% decrease compared to the brand reputation index of 8,728,103 in December.
Director Koo Chang-hwan stated, “According to the big data analysis results for star brand reputation in January 2025, the BLACKPINK (Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, Lisa) brand ranked first. The BLACKPINK brand is raising expectations for a complete group with a global syndrome from their solo activities. The Lim Young-woong brand, which ranked second, has become a fandom icon proving that stars are made by fans. The BTS brand, which ranked third, is spending their military service wisely while still engaging with ARMY through music. The Son Heung-min brand, ranked fourth, is loved as the greatest hero among Asian football fans. The SEVENTEEN brand, ranked fifth, is building its fandom through global concerts with CARATs,” he analyzed the brands.
He continued, “Analyzing the star brand big data for January 2025, it shows a 10.60% decrease compared to the 328,502,574 pieces of star brand big data from December. A detailed analysis reveals a 4.47% increase in brand consumption, a 0.47% increase in brand issues, a 16.39% decrease in brand communication, and a 14.24% decrease in brand spread,” he commented on the reputation analysis.
The top 30 rankings for star brand reputation in January 2025 are BLACKPINK, Lim Young-woong, BTS, Son Heung-min, SEVENTEEN, Yoo Jae-suk, Lee Jung-jae, Byun Woo-seok, IVE, Lee Chan-won, Lee Joon-hyuk, Kim Min-jae, Jeon Hyun-moo, Choo Young-woo, Lee Byung-hun, Hyun Bin, aespa, Lim Ji-yeon, Gong Yoo, TWICE, SHINee, Song Joong-ki, BIGBANG, Baek Jong-won, Red Velvet, Kang Daniel, Haha, (G)I-DLE, Kang Ho-dong, and Han Ji-min.
