
Actress Kim Ji-young has reached the 8th anniversary of her passing.
Kim Ji-young passed away on February 19, 2017, due to complications from acute pneumonia while battling lung cancer. She was 79 years old. She rests in peace at Yongin's Forest of Tranquility.
After being diagnosed with lung cancer, Kim Ji-young fought her illness for two years without informing those around her. She continued her work in productions such as MBC's 'The Woman Who Makes You Cry', tvN's 'Let's Eat 2', and JTBC's 'Fantastic'. However, as the cancer cells metastasized and complications from pneumonia arose, she ultimately left this world.
Kim Ji-young debuted in the 1960 film 'The Heir' and received great love, appearing in over 100 works including 'Rose-colored Life', 'Thank You, Son', 'One Well-raised Daughter', 'Full House', 'King Sejong the Great', 'Mapado 2', 'National Representative', 'The Crucible', and 'Aging Family'.
