Singer Eun Ga-eun's former agency, TS M Entertainment, is appealing after losing in the first trial.
On the 21st, TS M Entertainment stated, “We humbly respect the first trial court's decision regarding the injunction request for the suspension of the exclusive contract filed by Eun Ga-eun,” but added, “The fact that nearly 1 billion won was paid to the artist during the exclusive contract period was not judged differently in the first trial. We will immediately appeal the first trial's decision.”
Previously, the 21st Civil Division of the Seoul Western District Court ruled in favor of Eun Ga-eun in her lawsuit for the suspension of the exclusive contract against her former agency and TSM Entertainment.
The court stated, “It is difficult to believe that TSM Entertainment has faithfully fulfilled its settlement obligations as defined in the exclusive contract, and there is considerable reason to view that the trust relationship between TSM Entertainment and Eun Ga-eun has been broken,” and suspended the effectiveness of the exclusive contract and supplementary agreement signed in May 2020, ordering TSM Entertainment to bear all litigation costs.
Eun Ga-eun filed for an injunction to suspend the exclusive contract in December of last year, citing non-payment of settlement funds, breach of trust, and negligence in duties.
Eun Ga-eun's attorney explained the reasons for the lawsuit, stating, “The agency has hindered the progress of schedules and new song work, and the settlement funds have not been paid. Even when we request supporting documents for the payment of settlement funds, they are not provided.”
