Actor and shaman Lee Geon-joo hinted at the possibility of meeting her father after 10 years.
In the family entertainment show TV CHOSUN ‘Dad and Me’ airing on the 11th, Lee Geon-joo, who is newly joining the cast, expresses her pent-up frustrations towards her father from childhood.
Lee Geon-joo, who was raised by her aunts and grandmother after her father left when she was 2 years old, revealed, “The last time I saw my father was 10 years ago.” She also shared, “My father was irresponsible and cowardly. I have been threatened and demanded money from him.”
Lee Geon-joo expressed her regret about not being able to enjoy a normal life with her father, such as going to the bathhouse together on her days off and eating delicious food. She mentioned the burden of wanting to escape from her father, saying, “Why is my dad so different from other fathers... Can’t he just leave me alone?” and added, “I want to feel a bit more at ease now,” revealing her painful inner thoughts.
Regarding her father, Lee Geon-joo stated, “I really dislike him, but on the other hand, I feel he is a very pitiful person. I hope he can become a father I can respect,” showing her complex feelings of both hatred and affection. The teaser video ended with her confession, “When I see my dad for the first time, will I cry or be angry… Does he really not want to see me until the day he dies?” Will the reunion between Lee Geon-joo and her father, filled with deep regret, actually happen?
