Actress Kang Myung-joo has passed away at the age of 54.
Kang Myung-joo's daughter, actress Park Se-young, announced the news on her account on the 28th, saying, "My mom left for a long journey yesterday afternoon. I would appreciate it if you could remember the stage and the shining moments that my mom loved."
Kang Myung-joo made her debut in 1992 with the play 'Kuni, Nara' at the Experimental Theater Company and appeared in numerous plays such as 'Hamlet of Gu Il-man', 'Blood and Seeds', 'Whether Human or Divine', and 'Coriolanus'. She gained recognition for her role as a judge in the 2022 drama 'Extraordinary Attorney Woo'. Until recently, she met audiences through works like 'Bea' and '20th Century Blues'.
The mortuary has been set up at Seoul St. Mary's Hospital, and the funeral will be held on March 2nd at 7:40 AM. Her husband, actor Park Yoon-hee, and their two daughters are listed as the bereaved family.
