Former MBC announcer Kim Dae-ho has revealed that the widely rumored large contract was not the only reason for his collaboration with MC Mong after becoming a freelancer.
On the 4th, a video titled "How Much Could It Be? Freelance Declaration by Announcer Kim Dae-ho! The Contract Money Mystery" was released on the YouTube channel 'Entertainment President Lee Jin-ho.'
YouTuber Lee Jin-ho began by saying that Kim Dae-ho's decision to sign an exclusive contract with One Hundred, led by MC Mong, was "a very puzzling choice." This was the general sentiment among the public. Lee Jin-ho added, "Upon checking, I found out that Kim Dae-ho had no prior acquaintance with MC Mong before the contract," which raised further curiosity.
Lee Jin-ho noted, "It's common for employees to decide on their next company before submitting their resignation. That's a safe choice," but "Kim Dae-ho was different. At the time he submitted his resignation, he had not yet decided on his next move."
Kim Dae-ho unusually announced his resignation from MBC on 'I Live Alone.' Although he could have faced restrictions on appearing in MBC entertainment shows like other announcers who became freelancers, he submitted his resignation without choosing an agency first. After declaring his freelance status, he received numerous offers from various companies centered around entertainers and broadcasters, but Kim Dae-ho's final choice was MC Mong's company, which puzzled netizens.
Later, when Kim Dae-ho appeared on the radio, he did not disclose the exact amount but described it as "not a typical amount that would usually appear in a bank account during a regular job," leading to speculation of a "contract worth hundreds of millions."
In this regard, Lee Jin-ho mentioned, "There were rumors that MC Mong offered a huge contract to Kim Dae-ho," adding, "MC Mong has accumulated significant assets through his music activities and is well-known in the industry as a big player."
However, Lee Jin-ho stated that the real reason Kim Dae-ho chose MC Mong was "because of Lee Soo-geun."
He explained, "The two are ten years apart in age but have a very close bond. They both hail from Gaegun-myeon, Yangpyeong-gun, and attended the same schools from elementary to high school. They grew up in the same neighborhood since childhood, and their parents know each other well, indicating a strong friendship."
Lee Jin-ho added, "Lee Soo-geun is reportedly very satisfied with his current agency. Therefore, it is said that he actively recommended the company to his close friend and junior, Kim Dae-ho," explaining that "Kim Dae-ho, who has always trusted and followed Lee Soo-geun, ended up signing the exclusive contract after their meeting."
Of course, while there are financial aspects behind Kim Dae-ho's declaration of freelancing, that is not the only reason. Lee Jin-ho mentioned that while he could not know the exact contract amount, "it is estimated to be in the hundreds of millions," and added that "there were companies that offered Kim Dae-ho even larger amounts," suggesting that Lee Soo-geun played a significant role in Kim Dae-ho's decision.
