Ahn Jung-hwan, Park Hang-seo, Kim Nam-il, and Lee Dong-guk will face off as coaches in ‘Mungchyeo ya Chanda 4’.

JTBC’s ‘Mungchyeo ya Chanda 4’ (hereafter ‘Mungchan4’), which will premiere on April 6, will see Kim Nam-il and Lee Dong-guk join the coaching staff, following the earlier announcement of Ahn Jung-hwan and Park Hang-seo.

The ‘Fantasy League’ is an 11-a-side full squad league featuring a large number of celebrities who love football, including idols, actors, sports stars, and influencers. With four teams actually competing in the league, it promises a scale that is different from the previous ‘Mungchan’ series. Most notably, Ahn Jung-hwan, Park Hang-seo, Kim Nam-il, and Lee Dong-guk will each serve as coaches for their respective teams, holding full authority over strategy and player selection, which is highly anticipated.

Ahn Jung-hwan, who has led the ‘Mungchan’ series, is known for his unique ‘tsundere’ leadership style, having guided the team to a runner-up finish in the ‘Season 1’ JTBC Cup and a championship in the ‘Season 2’ Seoul tournament. His seemingly indifferent yet meticulous leadership and sharp insights into players are his strengths. It will be exciting to see what kind of team he will create this season.

Park Hang-seo, known as the ‘Guus Hiddink of Vietnam’ for leading Vietnamese football to become the strongest in Southeast Asia, is also drawing attention for what kind of team he will build in the Fantasy League. With significant achievements such as winning the AFF Cup (Southeast Asian Football Championship) and two gold medals at the Southeast Asian Games, he will face off against his former mentee Ahn Jung-hwan as fellow coaches, showcasing a new chemistry.

Kim Nam-il, a key player in the 2002 Korea-Japan World Cup semi-final myth and known for his nickname ‘Vacuum Cleaner’ for pressuring opponents, will also take on the role of coach. With experience as a K League coach and national team coach, he has thrown down the gauntlet with his cold-blooded strategies.

Lee Dong-guk, who is referred to as a ‘living legend of the K League’ with the most goals scored, Rookie of the Year, Scoring Award, and four-time MVP, will also transform into a coach. He has previously shown a rivalry chemistry with Ahn Jung-hwan, and it will be interesting to see what kind of chemistry they will display when they meet as coaches on the field.

The production team stated, “This season will start with the four coaches directly assembling their teams and will feature intense strategic battles,” adding, “We hope you look forward to the genuine competition among legends of the football world.”
