
Chef Edward Lee has donated 10 million won to support the families of the victims of the Jeju Air Infinite Airport accident.
According to Must Be Vision on the 7th, Edward Lee donated 10 million won through the Seoul Community Chest of Korea to help the families of the Jeju Air accident victims.
He stated, "I felt very sad when I thought about the victims and their families. It is difficult to help in person, but I felt I had to do something." Edward Lee, who was filming in Yeosu, Jeollanam-do on the day of the accident, reportedly felt a great shock and pain upon hearing the news of the accident.
In January, Edward Lee held a charity dinner event for the families of the Jeju Air accident victims at his Korean restaurant 'Shia' in Washington D.C., donating all ticket proceeds. He also promoted the dinner event on social media, encouraging many to participate in the donations.
Recently, Edward Lee donated 20 million won to support warm meals for children in orphanages through the non-profit organization Anya, along with the message "You are not alone." The donation will be distributed to 30 orphanages, providing 700,000 won each for food that children enjoy, such as chicken and pizza.
Edward Lee, who was the runner-up on Netflix's 'The Great British Baking Show: The Professionals', has been meeting viewers recently through appearances on 'Edward Lee's Country Cook' and 'Please Take Care of My Refrigerator'.
