KBS has appointed reporter Lee Yoon-hee as the solo anchor for the weekend 'News 9'.
It has been 33 years since a female anchor has solo hosted the weekend news, following anchor Shin Eun-kyung, who previously hosted the 'Weekend 9 PM News' alone.
Reporter Lee Yoon-hee, who joined KBS as part of the 27th recruitment in 2001, has gained reporting experience in various departments including social affairs, politics, and economics, and has served as a main news anchor for 'News Time', 'News 12', 'News Line W', and most recently 'Economic Concert'.
KBS stated, "Anchor Lee Yoon-hee has a solid background in reporting and hosting, making her the right person to solo host the weekend 'News 9'. We believe it will provide news that helps summarize the week and prepare for the new week."
