The autopsy of the late singer Wheesung, who suddenly passed away on the 10th, has been completed. The bereaved family, who initially planned to hold a quiet funeral, has decided to set up a memorial at Samsung Medical Center on the 14th to commemorate the deceased.
Wheesung was found in a state of cardiac arrest at an apartment in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, at 6:29 PM on the 10th and was pronounced dead at the age of 43.
It is reported that a syringe was found near the deceased at the time of discovery. The police have stated that there are no signs of external intrusion or criminal suspicion, and they have requested an autopsy from the National Forensic Service to determine the exact cause of death.
With the autopsy completed on the morning of the 12th, the bereaved family has decided to prepare a memorial at Samsung Medical Center on the 14th. Although they initially planned to hold a quiet funeral among family members, they decided to hold a time of remembrance for those who loved the deceased.
Wheesung's younger brother stated on the 12th, “My brother always carried a deep loneliness that no one could comfort, and he lived fiercely, soothing and sublimating that feeling through music and song. I thought it was respectful to provide a time and place for many who remembered and loved my brother to commemorate the singer Wheesung and the person Choi Wheesung.”
He added, “To everyone who knew my brother and to those who have even a little happiness from his songs and music during his life, please feel free to visit the memorial without hesitation, and it would be appreciated if you could accompany him on his final journey so he won't be lonely.”
After the news of Wheesung's passing on the 10th, his colleagues in the music industry could not hide their grief.
Singers Jessie, Ali, Seo In-young, Ok Joo-hyun, Kim Chang-yeol, Mighty Mouth's Choo Plex, rappers Changmo, San E, Noel, Verbal Jint, Palo Alto, Vibe's Yoon Min-soo, 2AM's Jo Kwon and Lee Chang-min, and VIXX's Leo posted tributes to the deceased on social media.
In particular, singer KCM, who was set to hold a joint ballad concert 'The Story' with Wheesung on the 15th at the Daegu EXCO Auditorium, must have been even more shocked. The memorial for the late Wheesung will be set up at Samsung Medical Center on the 14th. The funeral will be held on the 16th, and the burial site will be Gwangneung Memorial Park.
