Actor Kim Soo-hyun, who has been embroiled in allegations regarding his past relationship with the late Kim Sae-ron during her minor years, is expected to withdraw from 'Good Day'.
According to reports from Maeil Business Newspaper on the 12th, the MBC entertainment program 'Good Day' is scheduled to film on the 13th. However, key cast member Kim Soo-hyun will not be attending.
Having already completed the recording for 'Good Day' on the 27th of last month, discussions regarding the editing of existing footage will take place later. With his withdrawal becoming more certain, significant modifications will be necessary not only for the broadcast content but also for the music tracks. As negative public sentiment regarding the personal controversy grows, it is expected to be difficult for him to continue appearing on terrestrial entertainment shows.
'Good Day' is a music project where G-Dragon collaborates with various individuals to complete this year's song. It marks the return of PD Kim Tae-ho to MBC, the network he left in 2022, and is G-Dragon's first fixed entertainment program after releasing new music.
With Kim Soo-hyun's connections, the group 88z (Hwang Kwang-hee, Lee Soo-hyuk, Jung Hae-in, Im Si-wan, G-Dragon) was formed, making Kim Soo-hyun a main member of the program. However, as Kim Soo-hyun became embroiled in personal controversies related to the tragic passing of Kim Sae-ron, public opinion soured, leading to a flood of demands for his withdrawal from the show.
Previously, the Garosero Research Institute (hereafter referred to as 'Gaseyeon') claimed, based on assertions from Kim Sae-ron's family, that Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Sae-ron were in a past romantic relationship.
Gaseyeon raised their voices, stating that Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Sae-ron dated for six years starting in 2015, highlighting that Kim Sae-ron, born in 2000, was a minor at 15 years old, while Kim Soo-hyun, born in 1988, was 27. They also criticized the agency's response as unreasonable, alleging collusion with YouTuber Lee Jin-ho to pressure the deceased.
In response, Kim Soo-hyun's agency, Gold Medalist, stated, "There have been many malicious claims against us and actor Kim Soo-hyun," and announced plans to consider the strongest legal actions possible against what they deemed false information.
Gaseyeon later released additional photos showing the two's physical interactions and messages that Kim Sae-ron sent to Kim Soo-hyun during her lifetime, claiming to have a handwritten letter from Kim Soo-hyun to Kim Sae-ron during his military service.
Despite the repeated revelations, Kim Soo-hyun's agency maintains its previous stance, stating, "Our official position remains unchanged."
