Actor Kim Soo-hyun (37) has denied allegations of a relationship with the late Kim Sae-ron (25), to which Kim Sae-ron's family responded, "This constitutes defamation of character," and stated, "We will take all necessary measures."
The deceased's aunt, A, stated in an interview with The Fact on the 13th, "What kind of parents would lie about their deceased child?" and added, "They started dating just before Sae-ron transferred to Gold Medalist (Kim Soo-hyun's agency). Although the age difference was significant to call them a couple, it is clear that they liked each other."
She continued, "Even when Sae-ron transferred to Gold Medalist from YG Entertainment, they were particularly fond of each other," and explained, "Regardless of how famous the other person is, the age difference was concerning for us as parents, so we had no choice but to oppose it."
She shared that the deceased had wept upon receiving a notice of compensation amounting to 700 million won after a drunk driving accident, stating, "It is true that Sae-ron was at fault, but sending a notice demanding 700 million won with the names of three lawyers from a law firm for a child who couldn't afford it seems excessive. They probably thought it would be difficult for her to make a comeback and might have wanted to shake off the negative image associated with a child she once dated."
Kim Sae-ron transferred to the newly established agency Gold Medalist in 2020. The agency was founded by Kim Soo-hyun and his cousin Lee Ro-be, and Kim Sae-ron was the first artist to be signed.
Earlier, the YouTube channel 'Garo Sero Research Institute' claimed on the 10th, citing Kim Sae-ron's family, that she had been in a relationship with Kim Soo-hyun for six years since she was 15 in 2015. In response, Gold Medalist stated, "This is a clear falsehood," and announced, "We will take strong legal action."
After three consecutive days of revelations, Kim Soo-hyun's side announced on the 13th, "To correct the facts and respond to baseless rumors, we will clarify our position next week based on clear evidence."
