The mother of the late Kim Sae-ron has made her first direct statement.
On the 14th, Kim Sae-ron's mother, referred to as A, stated through a YouTube channel, "I decided to release a statement after seeing the family's intentions being distorted and misrepresented," and explained, "Our goal is to restore the honor of my child, which has been ruined in an instant due to numerous false articles."

She continued, "Sae-ron has never lied to the media. She did not indulge in gambling without self-reflection, nor did she pretend to work part-time through lies, and she was not a child who only enjoyed entertainment with friends. She did not create dating rumors with manipulated photos."
In particular, she lamented, "Now that Sae-ron is gone, there are incredibly false articles being created, claiming that she was the head of the household and that her family squandered the hundreds of billions she earned, which are not worth seeing or reading." She emphasized, "All the sharp arrows of false articles have been directed at my young daughter Sae-ron, who has just turned twenty, and she has endured the unbearable, insulting personal attacks as a woman all alone. Sae-ron has endured this uprightly for three years without sleeping for 24 hours, in loneliness."
She pointed out, "This is akin to Sae-ron being collectively bullied by the entire nation due to the false articles triggered by Lee Jin-ho," and added, "We, the bereaved family, hope that the honor Sae-ron had as an actress during her lifetime, which she can no longer be recognized for, will be fully restored, and that legal and institutional measures will be established so that such incidents do not happen again, allowing the media to fulfill their mission and responsibility."
Previously, the family of Kim Sae-ron caused a stir by stating, "Kim Sae-ron dated Kim Soo-hyun for six years starting at the age of 15," and released letters and selfies exchanged during his military service.
In response, Kim Soo-hyun's agency, Gold Medalist, refuted, "Kim Soo-hyun dated Kim Sae-ron from the summer of 2019, after she became an adult, until the fall of 2020. It is not true that Kim Soo-hyun dated Kim Sae-ron when she was a minor," and also stated that claims of ignoring Kim Sae-ron's financial issues are not true.
