Recently, there has been ongoing controversy surrounding actor Kim Soo-hyun, and some public opinion claims that he should suspend his broadcasting activities. However, we express deep concern over the logic that Kim Soo-hyun should be excluded from broadcasting based solely on unilateral allegations without fair verification."
They continued, "The agency has officially stated that 'it is not true that he dated an actress during her minor years' and expressed, 'We want to ask why he has to go through all of this due to private matters disclosed without consent.' However, some are questioning his broadcasting appearances based solely on unverified claims. In this situation, we want to ask why only actor Kim Soo-hyun is being forced to suspend his broadcasting activities."
They also raised, "Recently, there are cases in the broadcasting industry where those identified as perpetrators of workplace harassment continue their broadcasting activities. Above all, politicians involved in legal controversies continue their political activities without any issues for years until the Supreme Court's ruling is made. Nevertheless, demanding immediate withdrawal from Kim Soo-hyun alone is an unfair act."
Furthermore, they stated, "As an actor, Kim Soo-hyun has the right to actively respond according to his position," and urged, "We hope that fair standards and principles will be applied, rather than criticism based on unverified allegations."
On the 14th, Kim Soo-hyun's agency, Gold Medalist, released an official statement clarifying, "They dated from the summer of 2019, after Kim Sae-ron became an adult, until the fall of 2020. It is not true that Kim Soo-hyun dated Kim Sae-ron during her minor years." They also denied claims that Kim Soo-hyun pressured Kim Sae-ron for debt repayment and that he ignored her requests for help.
