The family of singer Wheesung, who passed away suddenly on the 10th, announced that they would donate all the condolence money received.
On the 17th, the family stated, "Many colleagues and fans came to fill my brother's last journey during the funeral period last weekend, leaving no room for loneliness. They added, "Although my brother struggled with various negative emotions and unexpected painful situations that were not easily overcome, he never stopped his efforts to create beautiful music, maintaining his passion for singing. The family expressed, "All the condolence money received during this funeral period will be used in a way that can have a positive impact on society in the name of singer Wheesung. Born in 1982, Wheesung debuted in 2002 with his first full album 'Like A Movie.' He gained great love with hit songs such as 'Is It Not Possible,' 'Incurable Disease,' 'I Even Thought About Marriage,' and 'Love is Delicious.'
Wheesung was found dead at his home in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, at 6:29 PM on the 10th. He was 43 years old.
The police reported that there were no signs of external intrusion or criminal suspicion and requested an autopsy from the National Forensic Service to determine the exact cause of death. On the 12th, the initial findings from the autopsy stated, "The cause of death is unknown." The results of the drug tests are expected to be available in two weeks.
Initially, Wheesung's family planned to hold a quiet funeral among themselves, but they set up a mourning hall on the 14th to give those who loved the deceased a chance to say their final goodbyes.
The mourning hall was continuously visited by close colleagues of the deceased, including KCM, god's Kim Tae-woo, Lee Young-hyun, Mighty Mouth, ICHILLIN, Song Baek-kyung from One Time, and Baby Vox's Lee Hee-jin and Shim Eun-jin. Additionally, Naul, Zico, Park Jung-hyun, Lee Hyun-do, and groups like BTS and TWICE sent wreaths to express their condolences.
