Singer Cho Jang-hyuk expressed his political beliefs ahead of the Constitutional Court's ruling on President Yoon Seok-yeol's impeachment trial.
On the 16th, Cho Jang-hyuk posted on social media, "There should be a rule that lawmakers who proposed the impeachment must resign if the Constitutional Court dismisses it."
Previously, Cho Jang-hyuk had written against President Yoon's impeachment following the emergency martial law situation on December 3. Additionally, when President Yoon was released from detention on the 8th, he expressed his feelings by saying, "Justice prevails."
Cho Jang-hyuk has previously shown his political beliefs. In 2020, when COVID-19 was spreading, he posted, "The phrase 'people come first' still lingers in my ears, but it seems it was just an election campaign slogan," and asked, "Am I the only one feeling this disappointment towards the country?" When controversy arose, he clarified, "I posted this because I felt disappointed. Initially, we failed to prevent the entry of Chinese nationals, and for political reasons, we could not adequately protect the safety of the people."
Cho Jang-hyuk debuted in 1996 with the release of "Even If You Leave." Since then, he has hit songs like "Addicted Love" and "Change."
