The family of the late Kim Sae-ron expressed disappointment at Kim Soo-hyun's stance and released additional revealing videos.
According to Hankyung.com on the 18th, the family of Kim Sae-ron decided to conduct a digital forensic investigation to prove that Kim Sae-ron was in a relationship with Kim Soo-hyun during her minor years. The family reportedly stated, "We were hoping for an apology, but we are disappointed."
On the same day, Kim Soo-hyun's agency, Gold Medalist, issued an official statement saying, "The family and the YouTube channel 'Garo Sero Research Institute' (Gaseyeon) are continuously claiming facts that are not true through press conferences and reports. Our company has visited the funeral home of the deceased, and the person in the photo posted on Kim Sae-ron's fan SNS account is not Kim Soo-hyun but someone else," and warned, "We hope they will stop attempts to tarnish Kim Soo-hyun's reputation based on unrelated photos and online posts."
The family decided to conduct a digital forensic investigation to counter the claims and also released additional videos of what appears to be a home date between the two during their relationship through the YouTube channel 'Gaseyeon' that afternoon.
However, it seems that the current issue regarding whether they dated during her minor years cannot be determined from the video. Kim Soo-hyun's side has stated that he has never visited the apartment where Kim Sae-ron lived with her parents during her minor years (the apartment shown in the photo posted on the fan SNS account).
Gaseyeon claimed, "The video was agreed upon by the family," and added, "Please clarify your position tomorrow. If (the person in the video) says it's not him, we have a response and prepared video. His face is also shown."
Kim Sae-ron passed away on the 16th of last month. The family of the late Kim Sae-ron has claimed through the YouTube channel 'Gaseyeon' since the 10th that "Kim Sae-ron has been in a relationship with Kim Soo-hyun for over six years since she was 15 years old." Kim Sae-ron, born in 2000, and Kim Soo-hyun, born in 1988, have a 12-year age difference.
Kim Soo-hyun's side previously denied the relationship with Kim Sae-ron but later reversed their stance, stating that they dated from 2019 to 2020 after Kim Sae-ron became an adult.
