Comedian Shin Gi-ru was furious about the outrageous fake news.

On the 18th, Shin Gi-ru posted on her SNS, "Facebook trolling... dying within 10 years... I could let that slide, as I don't know people's lives, but really XX... this is too much. My blood pressure is normal, and I just had lamb skewers today, but the tomato egg stir-fry was so delicious that it shocked me," along with a photo.

The posted photo contained fake news stating, "Everyone said to lose weight, but Shin Gi-ru shockingly died at home, and everyone wept as she left this world due to high blood pressure shock," along with a picture of Shin Gi-ru and the phrase "Rest in peace."

Shin Gi-ru pointed out, "Those who play such pranks with their fingers, and those who try to survive by squeezing out their remaining strength, deserve to be cursed."

In addition to Shin Gi-ru, actress Seo Yi-sook previously reported a netizen who spread rumors of her death to the police in 2021, and broadcast writers who spread rumors of an affair between PD Na Young-seok and actress Jung Yu-mi in 2018 were all fined. Shin Ae-ra clarified through her SNS that the fake news about her being involved in illegal investment activities was baseless, and Kim Young-chul responded to fake news claiming he committed a crime and was arrested, saying, "Don't believe it or post it."

Meanwhile, according to current law, if someone publicly reveals facts with the intent to defame another's honor through an information and communication network, they can be sentenced to up to 3 years in prison or fined up to 30 million won. Additionally, if false facts are publicly disseminated causing harm, the offender can face up to 7 years in prison, disqualification for up to 10 years, or a fine of up to 50 million won.
