Trot singer Jinwook (32) revealed that he is a married man with a child.
On the 14th, Jinwook shared on his fan cafe, "I have a child born from a relationship with a non-celebrity girlfriend a year ago. In order to take responsibility for this precious life, we decided to build a family based on deep trust in each other."
Jinwook reflected, "It was entirely my fault that I couldn't tell you this because of a brief thought that I might never be on stage again. I didn't have the courage to speak up quickly because I didn't want to come down from the stage that I had worked so hard to reach, and I felt I was lacking both as a good dad and a good singer."
He continued, "Thanks to the overwhelming love sent to me despite my many shortcomings, I have grown this much and I know that I am who I am today. I sincerely apologize for not meeting expectations with my thoughtless behavior and for any disappointment I may have caused. I will strive to learn and reflect more."
Jinwook is currently awaiting the birth of his second child. He stated, "Due to health issues, I am being somewhat cautious, but I am currently waiting for another new life." He added, "I earnestly ask that you refrain from further speculation, as baseless rumors are causing harm to my family, whom I must protect, and to the company that has supported me."
Jinwook gained attention as a trot prodigy when he won the Grand Prize in the youth category at the Nam In-soo Song Festival in 2002. After consistently continuing his music activities, he participated in 'Mr. Trot 2', earning the titles 'Silk Voice' and 'Emotional Artisan', and finished in 6th place.
