Former professional basketball player and broadcaster Hyun Joo-yeop has resumed his broadcasting activities.

On the 20th, Hyun Joo-yeop promoted his new YouTube channel through his social media, saying, “Hello, this is Hyun Joo-yeop. After a long hiatus, I have returned not as a food boss but to the court. To the ‘Food Court’.”

He reflected, “I think I was able to gather the courage to come back thanks to the restaurant owners and everyone who have consistently worried and supported me during my break,” and added, “I am grateful for your constant support and waiting, and I will work hard to upload videos that repay that sentiment.”

He also said, “The food boss is not closed but is taking a new maintenance time, so please support the food boss as well. I will come back with good news.”

Earlier this year, a parent from Whimoon High School submitted a petition to the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education, claiming that Hyun Joo-yeop was not properly fulfilling his duties as the basketball team coach due to his broadcasting activities, including mukbang filming.

In response, the education office, which began a formal audit, confirmed that he had left his workplace without permission 18 times and demanded a salary reduction for Hyun Joo-yeop. They also identified improper execution of former coach's labor costs and poor management of the sports department's operating expenses, imposing sanctions including a one-year restriction on the transfer of basketball sports special talent.

In response, Whimoon High School filed an administrative lawsuit to cancel the audit results at the Seoul Administrative Court, and Hyun Joo-yeop's side also fully refuted the allegations of neglecting his duties, stating, “We will continue to take legal action, including administrative lawsuits, to correct the misunderstandings.”
