The group NewJeans (NJZ), which is in a dispute over its exclusive contract with the agency Adore, has received a court ruling stating that they should not engage in independent activities.
The 50th Civil Division of the Seoul Central District Court (Chief Judge Kim Sang-hoon) accepted Adore's injunction request against the five members of NewJeans on the 21st, ruling in favor of the request to prohibit them from engaging in independent activities and signing advertising contracts.
NewJeans members Minji, Hani, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein began independent activities last November, claiming that their exclusive contract with Adore was violated and subsequently terminated.
In response, Adore filed an injunction request in January, asking the court to prevent the NewJeans members from independently signing advertising contracts.
The NewJeans members have adopted the new activity name 'NJZ' and announced through a live broadcast last month that they will release a new song on the 23rd.
