The family of the late Kim Sae-ron has refuted the 'fake aunt' controversy.
On the 21st, Kim Sae-ron's mother stated through the YouTube channel Garoseyo Research Institute (hereafter referred to as Gaseyeon), "That person is just Sae-ron's aunt," and added, "If such a person exists, we should file a lawsuit; I don't understand why you are doing this. Why is such a trivial clarification necessary? Do you think the public will forget what you did if you keep obscuring the issue? Real aunt. Fake aunt. What is the problem with that?"
She continued, "I met A when Ron was 6 years old, during her time as a child actress, as a mother of another child actress. We took turns doing household chores and managing each other, filling in each other's shortcomings and helping each other, and we have lived together for almost 20 years, thinking of her as a real aunt and relying on her."
Kim Sae-ron's mother stated, "To us, she is the same as a real aunt, and I clarify that she has been entrusted with all external communication roles for our family," and added, "Is it so difficult to apologize? Was it such a difficult request? Please stop the actions that distort the essence."
Gaseyeon claimed on the 10th, citing statements from Kim Sae-ron's family, that Kim Soo-hyun had been in a relationship with Kim Sae-ron, who was 15 years old at the time, for six years and released private photos. In response, Kim Soo-hyun's side refuted that while they did date, it was only after Kim Sae-ron became an adult.
The family has filed a lawsuit against YouTuber B, who posted videos related to the late Kim Sae-ron, for defamation due to the spread of false information. In response, the YouTuber announced legal action against A, who claimed to be 'Kim Sae-ron's aunt.' Kim Soo-hyun's agency also reported Gaseyeon and the family regarding the release of private photos.
