A man, identified as A, who married the late actress Kim Sae-ron in the United States, claimed that allegations regarding abortion and dating violence are not true.
On the 25th, A, who identified himself as Kim Sae-ron's husband, expressed his position through the Garoseoro Research Institute (hereafter referred to as Gaseyeon). A stated, "I have thought several times about whether it would be a burden to the deceased and her family, but distorted facts are being spread by certain groups," and added, "I felt that the defamation had reached a serious level, so I wanted to correct the facts." He also revealed the marriage certificate issued in New Jersey, USA.
According to A, the two met through a mutual acquaintance in November 2024 and began dating, marrying two months later in January. He claimed, "However, we were in a rush to marry without serious consideration due to falling in love, and we were in the process of annulling the marriage by mutual agreement due to practical issues from long-distance and personality differences."
A denied all allegations of violence, surveillance, and pregnancy, stating, "The house we live in the U.S. is a quiet multi-family apartment. The soundproofing is weak. If violence occurred, the neighbors below could report it. Violence is a serious crime in the U.S." He also questioned, "We met a total of four times from November 2024 to February 2025. Except for the first meeting, Kim Sae-ron came to the U.S. every month. If there was violence or confinement, why would Kim Sae-ron voluntarily come to the U.S.?"
He also denied the allegations regarding abortion, stating, "We first met in November. The serious relationship began when Kim Sae-ron visited the U.S. at the end of November. The timing does not match. Kim Sae-ron was not considering parenting and was taking birth control pills." He emphasized, "Claiming that I married Kim Sae-ron through pregnancy or threats is a serious insult to her."
On the same day, Kim Sae-ron's ex-boyfriend B claimed in an interview with The Fact, "I know that Sae-ron's death is not because of Kim Soo-hyun."
According to B, Kim Sae-ron struggled with her family's indifference. Last November, when Kim Sae-ron had to undergo emergency surgery due to self-harm that severed her wrist ligaments, no one from her family showed up despite being contacted. B expressed skepticism towards the family, stating, "After cutting ties with Kim Sae-ron, they showed no interest until she passed away, and now they are bringing up the fact that she dated a famous actor years ago, which can only be explained by some other intention or purpose."
B also claimed that Kim Sae-ron was struggling with her husband A and shared messages exchanged with her. In a message that appears to be from Kim Sae-ron, she told B, "I started seeing this person in November," and added, "(A) spreads our KakaoTalk messages and photos, hacks my Instagram to post pictures, hits me, curses at me, and I was so scared. That's why I couldn't break up, always fearing it would affect you."
Meanwhile, on the 10th, Gaseyeon stirred controversy by claiming that Kim Soo-hyun dated Kim Sae-ron, who was 15 at the time, for six years, citing statements from Kim Sae-ron's family. Following this, they continued to expose private photos of Kim Soo-hyun and filed a lawsuit against Lee Jin-ho of the YouTube channel 'Entertainment President' for defamation based on false facts.
Kim Soo-hyun's agency, Gold Medalist, acknowledged that they dated but claimed that they only started seeing each other after Kim Sae-ron became an adult. They also reported Gaseyeon operator Kim Se-hee, who released photos of Kim Soo-hyun exposing his lower body, along with the family members who provided the photos, for violating the Special Act on the Punishment of Sexual Violence Crimes (distribution of filmed materials using cameras, etc.).
