Singer Lim Young-woong had his home in Hapjeong-dong seized due to local tax arrears, but it was canceled after three months.

Lim Young-woong's agency, Fish Music, stated on the 26th to Maeil Economic Star Today, "It is true that there was a seizure due to property tax issues." They continued, "It was not a deliberate failure to pay taxes. It happened because we missed checking the paper notice."

The apartment where Lim Young-woong resides is located on the 3rd floor, not on the basement or the 1st floor where the mailbox is at the entrance, which led to him not receiving the local tax notice after not checking the mail for a certain period, ultimately resulting in the seizure notice.

The agency stated, "After recognizing the issue at the beginning of the year, we immediately paid the taxes, and the seizure has now been lifted," and added, "We sincerely apologize for the occurrence of this issue due to our lack of careful attention."

On the same day, a media outlet reported that the Mapo District Office in Seoul seized Lim Young-woong's home on October 16 last year and then canceled the seizure. According to the report, the Mapo District Collection Department, which is responsible for collecting local taxes, non-tax revenue, and traffic arrears, seized the penthouse in Myeongdong, Seogyo-dong, Mapo-gu, which Lim Young-woong owns. The seizure was canceled just three months after it was established, on January 13.

Lim Young-woong purchased the penthouse on the top floor of Myeongdong, with a dedicated area of 223.31㎡ (67 pyeong) and a supply area of 294.71㎡ (89 pyeong) for 5.1 billion won in September 2022. It gained attention as it was reported that he bought it entirely in cash.
