The Korean Red Cross (Chairman Kim Cheol-soo) announced on the 27th that Seulgi, a member of the girl group Red Velvet, which is active as a representative cultural artist of South Korea, has donated 100 million won to help those affected by the wildfires.

Seulgi expressed, "I felt deep sorrow for the many victims whose daily lives and livelihoods are threatened by the unexpected large wildfire," and added, "Although it is a small gesture, I decided to donate with the hope that it will be of help."

The recent wildfires began in the Sancheong area of Gyeongnam on the 21st and spread rapidly to regions such as Gyeongbuk and Ulsan due to strong winds and dry weather.

According to the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasure Headquarters of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, as of 9 PM on the 26th, 17,752 hectares have been damaged in six regions, with 2,869 victims reported and 317 buildings damaged, indicating that the scope and scale of the damage continue to increase.

Seulgi's timely donation as part of disaster response is expected to not only contribute to practical recovery efforts but also to remind society of the values of solidarity and sharing.

A representative from the Korean Red Cross stated, "Seulgi's donation is a precious act that goes beyond simple financial support, aiming to share public responsibility in the face of disaster," and added, "The donation will be transparently executed for the benefit of the affected victims."
