
'Weak Hero', which moved to Netflix, has truly exploded. It started off at global rank 3, kicking off its box office success.
According to FlixPatrol, a global OTT platform viewing ranking site, 'Weak Hero Class 1' secured the global 3rd place in the Netflix TV show category with 589 points. It entered 1st place in Thailand and Malaysia, and started at 3rd place in Korea. Additionally, it performed well in France (3rd), Spain (4th), the USA (5th), Canada (6th), Germany (8th), and Italy (10th), showing strong results in North and South America as well as Europe.
Released on Netflix on the 25th, 'Weak Hero Class 1' is an action coming-of-age drama that depicts the journey of top student Yeon Si-eun, who learns to fight against numerous acts of violence alongside his first friends Su-ho and Beom-seok. When it was released on Wavve in 2022, it received a remarkable response, recording an impressive rating of 9.9.
Based on the webtoon of the same name on Naver, 'Weak Hero Class 1' portrays the intense growing pains of model student Yeon Si-eun (Park Ji-hoon) as he learns to fight against harsh realities after meeting An Su-ho (Choi Hyun-wook) and Oh Beom-seok (Hong Kyung). The brain action utilizing Yeon Si-eun's exceptional intelligence is also a highlight.

Above all, Park Ji-hoon, Choi Hyun-wook, and Hong Kyung delivered powerful performances in 'Weak Hero Class 1', showcasing their strong presence. With deep eyes, Park Ji-hoon successfully imprinted his name as an actor, not just as a child actor or idol, through this work. Choi Hyun-wook also contributed significantly by perfectly portraying the free-spirited Su-ho.
Hong Kyung cannot be overlooked either. He convincingly portrayed the character with the most emotional changes in the drama, making him a key player that allowed viewers to immerse themselves in the narrative of 'Weak Hero Class 1'. With its high level of completion captivating viewers, the sequel 'Weak Hero Class 2', which contains the follow-up story, will be released on Netflix in April. Following the successful launch of 'Weak Hero Class 1', interest in 'Weak Hero Class 2' is also rising.
'Weak Hero Class 2' depicts the desperate survival story and brilliant growth of model student Yeon Si-eun, who transferred to Eunjang High School with the trauma of not being able to protect his friend after fighting against violence for his friends, determined not to lose another friend.
Park Ji-hoon, who was a voluntary outsider with no interest outside of studying but showed a surprising charm by fighting against violence after meeting precious friends, will once again portray Yeon Si-eun. Director Han Jun-hee, who planned and oversaw the series, and director Yoo Soo-min, who wrote and directed, will also be involved.
