As claims have emerged that the late singer Sulli was forced to perform bed scenes during the filming of the movie 'Real', the film's director has spoken out.
Director Lee Jung-seob of 'Real' shared a post from a netizen on his social media on the 28th.
The netizen wrote, "In a tweet about the director change incident of the movie 'Real' that I wrote in 2017, someone mentioned it, and I thought it was being reexamined because of that actor these days, but I hope the person involved is not. Now that the movie has been released, I can say this confidently, but the fact that the movie turned out that way is not even 1% the fault of Director Lee Jung-seob."
The director responded to the post, saying, "Thank you. I've been heartbroken for a long time."
Director Lee was in charge of directing 'Real', which was released in 2017, but was replaced by Lee Sa-rang (real name Lee Ro-be) who is known to be the cousin of actor Kim Soo-hyun during the latter part of filming.
Sulli's family stated on the 28th, "We heard questionable content during Sulli's funeral in 2019," and added, "We learned this from testimonies of staff and actors. We heard that the bed scene between Sulli and Kim Soo-hyun was not specified in the original script, and we would like to hear Kim Soo-hyun's stance on this."
The family pointed out, "I understand that there was a body double for Sulli's nude scene during filming, and that the body double was present on set. We want to ask why they did not use the body double and instead persuaded Sulli to perform the bed and nude scenes."
They continued, "It is said that the body double could not come on the day the bed and nude scenes were filmed due to illness. According to testimonies from attendees at the funeral, the body double was present on set; is this true? We have received many reports from Sulli's funeral, but we will only ask three questions based on facts, and we hope for an active response from Kim Soo-hyun and Lee Sa-rang."
'Real' is a film featuring Sulli and Kim Soo-hyun as lead actors. It failed to perform well at the box office with 470,000 viewers.
