Actor Kim Soo-hyun is making his first official appearance in 21 days following a personal controversy, during which Brazilian fans sent a support truck to show their support for him.
Kim Soo-hyun will hold a press conference on the 31st at 4:30 PM at the Stanford Hotel in Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul, regarding the controversy surrounding him. At the press conference, Kim Soo-hyun will be accompanied by his legal representative, attorney Kim Jong-bok from the law firm LK Partners. However, there will be no separate Q&A session aside from the prepared statement.
Currently, a support truck sent by Brazilian fans is parked near the press conference venue. The fans expressed their support for Kim Soo-hyun with messages such as "We chose to support you. Always," "We cannot stand by and let hate win," and "Kim Soo-hyun has dedicated his life to art and his fans."
Meanwhile, the YouTube channel 'Garo Sero Research Institute' stated ahead of Kim Soo-hyun's press conference, "Harassing the family of the late Kim Sae-ron is no longer acceptable. You have already harassed Kim Sae-ron enough. You should make a sincere public apology now."
Furthermore, Kim Soo-hyun's side emphasized that they would be accompanied by a lawyer at the press conference, warning, "We will closely watch what kind of tricks you might pull, and depending on your actions, we will respond accordingly."
The controversy surrounding Kim Soo-hyun's personal life began when the family of the late Kim Sae-ron claimed on the 10th through the YouTube channel 'Garo Sero Research Institute' that Kim Sae-ron had been in a relationship with Kim Soo-hyun for six years, from November 19, 2015, when she was in the third year of middle school, until July 7, 2021, and that after leaving her agency, they sent a notice of debt repayment of 700 million won from Gold Medalist, psychologically pressuring her. The family held a press conference on the 27th, revealing messages exchanged with Kim Soo-hyun.
Kim Soo-hyun's side refutes this, stating that he was in a relationship with the late Kim Sae-ron from the summer of 2019, when she was an adult, until the fall of 2020. Initially, when the dating rumors first surfaced last year, they denied the relationship itself as "false information," but later changed their stance to say, "They dated for two years after Kim Sae-ron became an adult."
Additionally, a new controversy arose recently when A, the older brother of the late Sulli, raised suspicions regarding the filming of a bed scene in Sulli's movie 'Real' (2017).
A stated, "I learned from the testimonies of staff and actors at Sulli's funeral in 2019," and urged, "I heard that the bed scene between Sulli and Kim Soo-hyun was not originally specified in the script, and I want to hear Kim Soo-hyun's and his cousin, the director's, stance on this."
He also questioned why, despite having a body double during the filming of 'Real,' they pressured Sulli into performing bed scenes and nude scenes, and why they told Sulli that "the body double couldn't come because they were sick," asking if all these claims were true.
