Former lawmaker Jang Je-won of the People Power Party, who was under suspicion of sexual assault, has been found dead.
According to the police on the 1st, former lawmaker Jang Je-won was found dead at an officetel in Gangdong-gu, Seoul at 11:40 PM the previous day.
A police official stated, "No signs of foul play have been found."
Former lawmaker Jang, who served three terms in the National Assembly, was under police investigation for allegedly committing sexual violence against his secretary A in November 2015 while he was the vice president of a university in Busan (quasi-rape causing injury).
Jang's side has denied the allegations, claiming that there was no truth to A's accusations of sexual assault, and it is reported that he completely denied the charges during a police summons investigation on the 28th of last month.
