The agency of rapper Noel, who recently lost his father, has requested, “Please refrain from indiscriminate malicious comments.”
Indigo Music stated on the 1st, “Currently, there are indiscriminate comments regarding Noel’s private life,” and added, “We have determined that protection of the artist is necessary, and all upcoming content related to the artist will be managed by the company.”
They continued, “This will be maintained for a certain period for the protection of the artist, and any posts regarding upcoming D/S release news, concert news, etc., will be temporarily handled by the company,” emphasizing, “We hope that indiscriminate comments related to the artist will be refrained from.”
Noel's father, former People Power Party lawmaker Jang Je-won, was under police investigation for allegedly committing sexual violence (quasi-rape) against his secretary A while serving as the vice president of a university in Busan in November 2015. Although Jang's side has claimed that there was no truth to A's allegations of sexual assault, A's side announced on the 31st that they had submitted related evidence to the police and released a video that was filmed in a hotel room in Gangnam during the incident.
A's side had planned to hold a press conference at 10 a.m. that day to explain the circumstances of the complaint, but it was hastily canceled after the news of Jang's death broke. With the death of the party involved, the police investigation is expected to conclude with “no right to prosecute.”
