‘Two O'Clock Date with An Young-mi’ received a warning from the Broadcasting and Communications Review Committee (BCRC) for swearing during a live broadcast.
On the 31st of last month, the BCRC held a general meeting and decided to issue a legal sanction of 'warning' against MBC FM's ‘Two O'Clock Date with An Young-mi’ (hereinafter referred to as ‘Two Date’).
The issue arose from the broadcast on October 29, 2024. An Young-mi asked the guest Sunwoo from The Boyz, “What do you do when fans request something during the live broadcast of ‘Idol Radio’?” Sunwoo replied, “In ‘Idol Radio’, fans are outside the radio booth. They write everything on a sketchbook. When the song plays, we communicate with them during that time,” explaining that he interacts with fans during breaks.
After hearing Sunwoo's answer, An Young-mi used profanity, saying, “So you’re cursing behind the scenes?” When Sunwoo looked surprised, An Young-mi tried to recover by saying, “You’re just saying shoes, shoes,” but the controversy escalated.
The BCRC stated, “During the live broadcast, the host and guest were conversing about a verbal mistake, and the host used profanity on air, failing to take adequate follow-up measures.” They decided to issue a warning based on Article 51, Section 3 (Broadcast Language) of the Broadcasting Review Regulations.
