Comedian Park Sung-kwang's wife, Lee Sol-i, has revealed her battle with cancer.
On the 2nd, Lee Sol-i shared on her SNS, “After resigning, I was naturally preparing for a child when I was diagnosed with cancer after 5 months.”
She continued, “Due to the nature of female cancer, I became unable to have children, and I felt so guilty for not being able to protect my health, which made me very sorry to my parents and in-laws.”
Lee Sol-i stated, “I underwent surgery and cytotoxic chemotherapy for 6 months, had to be careful when going out, couldn’t eat properly, vomited every day, lost weight, my skin deteriorated, my hair fell out, and I went back and forth to the emergency room, enduring a really tough time.”
She expressed, “I didn’t want to bring this story up, but I was so hurt by being portrayed only as a ‘luxurious woman,’ ‘a woman who doesn’t have children,’ and ‘a woman who uses her husband like an ATM’ amidst continuous sensational articles and distorted views.”
In conclusion, Lee Sol-i said, “Even if I chase hope, sometimes what I see is hope... I can no longer tolerate this ongoing stress. I hope the world becomes a little kinder and more compassionate.”
Park Sung-kwang and Lee Sol-i revealed their marriage in 2020. The couple has shared their newlywed life through the SBS variety show ‘Same Bed, Different Dreams 2 - You Are My Destiny.’
