Broadcaster Kim Byeong-man is getting married this September.
Kim Byeong-man's agency, Sky Turtle, announced on the 3rd to Maeil Business Star Today, “He is scheduled to marry in September this year,” adding, “The bride-to-be is a non-celebrity. They plan to hold a modest ceremony with only family members.”
Kim Byeong-man registered his marriage with his wife A, who is seven years older, in 2010, but they faced a breakup in 2020. In August 2020, Kim Byeong-man filed for divorce and property division against A, and also filed a lawsuit for damages regarding 674.02 million won that A withdrew without permission. A, who had submitted a divorce refusal, later filed a counterclaim, suddenly alleging that Kim Byeong-man had “brutally assaulted” her repeatedly.
In December 2022, the Seoul Family Court ruled, “The marital relationship between the two has already lost affection and trust. It has collapsed to an irreparable extent.” The property division ratio was determined to be 75% for Kim Byeong-man and 25% for A, and it was ruled that Kim Byeong-man would receive half ownership and that the insurance policyholder's name would be changed to Kim Byeong-man, along with a return of nearly 1 billion won. A appealed, but it was dismissed, and her appeal to the Supreme Court was also rejected, finalizing the divorce in 2023.
Kim Byeong-man debuted as a KBS 17th public recruitment comedian in 2002. Since then, he has gained great popularity by hitting numerous segments such as 'Master' and 'Uninvited Guests' on KBS2's 'Gag Concert'. He has also been active in survival entertainment shows like SBS's 'Law of the Jungle' and TV Chosun's 'Survival King: Tribe War'.
