As the impeachment ruling of President Yoon Suk-yeol is set to take place on the 4th, broadcasting companies have entered an emergency mode by canceling existing programs and arranging special broadcasts.

The Constitutional Court will announce the impeachment ruling of President Yoon Suk-yeol at 11 AM on the 4th. The attention of the entire nation is focused on this event. In response, broadcasting companies are preparing to deliver news specials and related feature broadcasts to cover the ruling and subsequent developments.

On the 3rd, MBC issued an official statement saying, “We would like to inform you of the schedule change for MBC’s new Friday-Saturday drama ‘Bunny and Brothers’,” and added, “Due to the special broadcast on April 4th (Friday), the premiere of ‘Bunny and Brothers’, originally scheduled for April 4th, has been rescheduled to April 11th (Friday). We ask for your understanding.” MBC has scheduled a ‘Special 100-Minute Discussion’ at 9 PM and an ‘MBC News Special’ at 10:25 PM on the 4th.

KBS will broadcast impeachment-related news through KBS 1TV. After the morning program ‘Morning Yard’ airing at 8 AM on the 4th, all subsequent broadcasts will be canceled, and special broadcasts related to the impeachment will be arranged. A special documentary titled ‘Record of 123 Days from Martial Law to Constitutional Court Ruling’ will also be aired.

JTBC canceled ‘Divorce Reflection Camp’ on the 3rd and arranged a special edition of the JTBC discussion program ‘Debate’. Democratic Party lawmaker Lee Geon-tae, People Power Party Strategic Planning Committee Chairman Cho Jung-hoon, Professor Cha Seong-an from the University of Seoul Law School, and lawyer Kim Ik-hyun will participate to discuss current issues on the eve of the ruling.

Channel A will cancel ‘My Precious Child in Parenting’, originally scheduled to air at 8:10 PM on the 4th, and ‘Heart Pairing’, which was set for 9:40 PM. All programs scheduled after the morning show ‘Happy Morning’ airing at 7:30 AM will be canceled and replaced with news specials and other programs related to the impeachment ruling.

Scheduled broadcasting events have also been rescheduled. KBS1’s daily drama ‘Catch the Great Luck’ was supposed to hold a production presentation and premiere on the 7th, but both events have been postponed to the 14th due to the special broadcast arrangement for ‘Let’s Get Married, Maenggong’. KBS2’s entertainment program ‘Pollunteer’ has moved its production presentation from the 4th to the 3rd.

Meanwhile, the impeachment ruling for President Yoon Suk-yeol will take place at 11 AM on the 4th at the Constitutional Court. A decision for removal requires the approval of more than six of the eight sitting judges. If the impeachment motion is upheld, President Yoon will be removed from office, while a dismissal or rejection will allow him to immediately return to his duties.
