Yoon-gyeol, a former member of Jannabi, expressed strong displeasure regarding the impeachment decision of President Yoon Seok-yeol, stating, “Shitty day, things are going well.”
On the 4th, he wrote on his Instagram story, “Those who are happy about the impeachment should do a little research. Shitty day.” He also posted on Threads, “Things are going well, seriously.”
Earlier, President Yoon Seok-yeol was impeached at 11:22 AM on the same day by a unanimous ruling from the Constitutional Court.
This comes 122 days after former President Yoon declared a 'state of emergency' on December 3 last year, and 111 days after the impeachment motion was filed. The Constitutional Court determined that President Yoon violated the Constitution and laws, and that the violations were serious enough to warrant impeachment.
Meanwhile, Yoon-gyeol was embroiled in controversy in 2021 over allegations of assaulting a woman. At that time, Jannabi's agency, Peponi Music, stated, “The information we received from the party (Yoon-gyeol) was different from what was reported in the news, so we are quite perplexed,” and added, “We have always warned Yoon-gyeol to avoid any misconduct as reported. However, we cannot hide our disappointment that such an incident occurred.”
They clarified, “Yoon-gyeol's contract with Jannabi had already been terminated due to the expiration of the contract before he served as a social service worker, and after completing his service, he did not renew the contract and participated in subsequent schedules as a guest in name only.”
The following year, Yoon-gyeol received a deferred prosecution decision. He expressed, “I sincerely apologize for causing trouble,” and added, “I have been diligently cooperating with the investigation and have resolved the matter amicably through discussions with the victim. Although there were some media reports that differed from the facts, I accept them humbly as a reminder to reflect on my inadequate actions.” He also appealed, “Although I had to leave the team due to an unfortunate incident, the performances I showed as Jannabi's drummer were not false.”
