Singer Yoo Seung-jun (48, American name Steve Seung-jun Yoo) shared his recent status and expressed his enduring love for Korea.
On the 4th, Yoo Seung-jun updated his fans through his personal account, saying, "Hey guys, it's your oppa Seung-jun. How have you been? I'm doing very well."
He mentioned, "Honestly, I've been feeling a bit down lately," adding, "I haven't been able to sleep much at night. Sleeping is really important. You need to sleep at least 7 hours. It would be best to get a good night's sleep, but no matter what, you have to sleep for at least 7 hours in bed."
He continued, "I'm trying to get 8 hours of sleep, but honestly, it's not easy. However, especially for those who exercise, it's essential to get about 8 hours of sleep. There's a saying that sleep is the best medicine. You need to sleep well to recover."
Yoo Seung-jun was very popular in Korea during the 1990s, but he suddenly left for the U.S. in 2002, renounced his Korean citizenship, and obtained U.S. citizenship, which led to controversy over evading military service. The government banned his entry into Korea under the Immigration Control Act, and fans turned their backs on him in betrayal.
Since then, Yoo Seung-jun has been continuously pursuing legal action to enter Korea. Despite the extreme reactions, he has been consistently communicating with his Korean fans.
Recently, on the occasion of his 28th debut anniversary, he expressed to his fans, "I'm sorry that the time we've spent together has been too short. I've buried the memories of the past. Time has passed, and everything has become a thing of the past," adding, "I never expected to receive so much love... I really didn't know I would disappoint and hurt you all. I was so young, fearless, and recklessly confident back then. I only worked for about 5 years, and then it has been 23 years of separation from you all."
He also stated, "It's all my fault and my shortcomings for not being able to show a better version of myself and for creating a reality where I can't confidently say I'm a fan of Yoo Seung-jun. However, I won't just hold onto those dreamlike memories. That said, it's really hard to erase those beautiful memories."
