The news of Kim Min-hee's pregnancy was reported last January. At that time, Dispatch reported that Kim Min-hee was expecting to give birth this spring. In February, she was spotted at Incheon Airport in a late stage of pregnancy with director Hong Sang-soo, which drew attention.
Director Hong Sang-soo and Kim Min-hee became connected through the film 'Right Now, Wrong Then' (2015) and developed a romantic relationship, overcoming a 22-year age difference.
Director Hong Sang-soo, who married in 1985 and has a daughter, is still legally married to his ex-wife. In November 2016, he filed for divorce against his wife, but the Seoul Family Court dismissed the case in 2019. Director Hong Sang-soo did not appeal the decision.
