Webtoon artist and broadcaster Gian84 has another heartwarming story.
On the 8th, a video titled “The Place I Really Want to Visit Before I Die” was released on the YouTube channel ‘TaeGyeIlJu Base Camp’.
On that day, Gian84 said, “I have returned with ‘Around the World in 80 Days Season 4’.” He added, “Before every trip, I always prayed for the program to go well without any accidents. Today, I’m going to pray to Buddha again,” as he climbed the mountain with PD Kim Ji-woo.
Gian84 joked, “(When I came last time) I donated too much. I don’t want to think about it.” He also mentioned his donation to an orphanage last February, saying, “I donated 30 million won, and (webtoon artist) Park Tae-jun also donated 30 million won, but the article made it seem like I donated 60 million won. I felt sorry for Tae-jun.”
The temple they visited that day was Seungga Temple located in Bukhansan. There was a lift line hanging at the temple. Seeing this, the two mentioned their Bolivian friend Porphy, with whom they shared a deep bond during ‘TaeGyeIlJu Season 1’.
Porphy had previously attracted attention by showcasing his use of a zip line connecting steep cliffs through ‘TaeGyeIlJu’.
PD Kim said, “Didn’t you give him money to fix the zip line when Porphy came to Korea?” and Gian84 replied, “I gave him 3 million won. Didn’t he spend it all on drinking?” expressing his doubts.
PD Kim revealed, “He fixed it not long ago. It’s touching,” and shared a video showing the recent updates of Porphy’s family. The video showed Porphy’s family, who used to ride the zip line barehanded, now using safety ropes and a lift for safer travel. However, Porphy Junior was still seen riding the zip line barehanded.
This left Gian84 surprised, saying, “I told him to be safe, so why is he riding it (barehanded)?” which elicited laughter. PD Kim added, “He’s still wearing the shoes that you bought for him when he came to Korea,” and Gian84 responded, “He has grown a lot. His feet must have grown too,” playfully adding, “Ask your dad to buy you new shoes next time.”
