It has been revealed that the only parent among the members of the group NewJeans who opposed the lawsuit regarding the termination of the exclusive contract with their agency Ador was Hyein's father.

On the 3rd, during the first hearing of the lawsuit to confirm the validity of the exclusive contract between NewJeans and their agency Ador at the Seoul Central District Court's Civil Division 41, it was first disclosed that there were differing opinions among the parents of NewJeans members.

The court asked the representatives of the members, "Does the family court's decision regarding the exercise of parental rights over Defendant 4 mean that the lawsuit has been ratified?" This is interpreted as a question about whether the disagreement regarding the lawsuit has been resolved, as parents jointly represent the parental rights when the member is a minor.

Among the NewJeans members, Hyein and Haerin are minors. There were speculations that one of Haerin's parents had expressed a differing opinion, but it has been confirmed that it was Hyein's father who raised the objection.

Hyein's mother, Ms. A, filed a lawsuit for the adjustment of parental rights against her father, Mr. B, at the Seoul Family Court, and the court ruled that "it is reasonable to allow the claimant to exercise parental rights alone," siding with mother A.

In relation to this, the parents of NewJeans issued a statement on the 4th, stating, "The reports from some media that 'a division has arisen among the members' parents' are completely false."

They also added, "The issue of parental rights is a personal family matter. We hope that this matter will not be maliciously exploited in connection with the 'legal dispute with Ador' in the future," and "A company that should be based on trust is exploiting the members' family matters for media play, and as parents, we cannot send our children back there."

Meanwhile, NewJeans held an emergency press conference last November, announcing that their contract had been terminated due to Ador's breach of contract. They later announced their new group name, NJZ, and began independent activities.

On March 21, the court ruled in favor of the injunction filed by Ador to preserve its status as a planning agency and to prohibit the signing of advertising contracts. The court determined that the members of NewJeans should not engage in entertainment activities on their own or through third parties without prior approval or consent from Ador. The members submitted an objection on the same day.

NewJeans announced a suspension of activities while performing on stage at ComplexCon held at AsiaWorld-Expo in Hong Kong on the 23rd of last month.
