Actor Kim Soo-ro (54) confessed that he faced death a few years ago after contracting COVID-19.
On the 14th, during an appearance on the YouTube channel ‘Jjanhanhyung Shin Dong-yeob’, Kim Soo-ro revealed, “In fact, I really faced death a few years ago.”
He said, “I couldn’t talk about it anywhere. Only my wife knows,” as he wiped his chest, and the host Shin Dong-yeob responded with surprise, realizing the seriousness of the situation.
Kim Soo-ro explained seriously, “There are so many people who have passed away that I couldn’t talk about it anywhere. But I really almost died from COVID-19,” adding, “That’s why I need to have an oxygen saturation machine at home. If the oxygen saturation drops below 90, you have to call 119. When you are about to end your life due to some illness, you don’t even realize you are dying.”

He continued, “As my breathing slowed down, I experienced dying while sleeping. If there isn’t someone next to you at that time, you just die. Experiencing that changed my life,” emphasizing, “Now, when I look at the world, there’s nothing I can’t forgive, everything is good and lovely. Everything can be forgiven.”
Shin Dong-yeob empathized, saying, “Everyone has different degrees of such turning points, but they do exist.”
Kim Soo-ro also shared, “When the nursing staff visited my home for isolation, I cried. When I was taken out, there was no one on the street. They saw me as a perfect virus,” adding, “It’s true that I shouldn’t get infected... but it made me feel like ‘the world has abandoned me.’ I cried a lot. I really gained a great realization in life.”
Meanwhile, after a long absence, Kim Soo-ro has returned as a theater producer and actor. The play ‘Trial’, which opened on the 9th at the CJ Towol Theater in the Arts Center in Seocho-gu, Seoul, features Kim Soo-ro along with Um Ki-joon, Kang Pil-seok, Park Eun-seok, Park Jeong-bok, Nam Myung-ryeol, Ryu In-a, and Jin Ji-hee. The work is based on the real witch trials that occurred in Salem, Massachusetts in 1692 and premiered in the United States in 1953.
