
Actor Park Bo-gum is promoting Hanbok to the world. He has been selected as the first male model for the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism's 'Hanbok Wave' project.
On the 15th, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Craft and Design Foundation announced that Park Bo-gum has been selected as a Hallyu cultural artist for the '2025 Hanbok Wave' project, promoting the elegance and dignity of Hanbok alongside four domestic Hanbok brands.
Now in its sixth year, the Hanbok Wave project collaborates with Hallyu artists to showcase the charm of Hanbok to the international community and assist capable Hanbok brands in entering overseas markets. In 2022, former figure skater Kim Yuna participated, followed by actress Suzy in 2023 and actress Kim Tae-ri in 2024.
Companies developing Hanbok products can apply from today until the 9th of next month. The call is targeted at small and medium-sized enterprises in the Hanbok sector, and four companies will be selected based on creativity, expertise, feasibility, and expected outcomes.
Park Bo-gum is gaining popularity as a global star through the Netflix drama 'The Sound of Magic'. Through this project, customized Hanbok designs reflecting his image and symbolism will be created.
The selected companies will develop and showcase Hanbok designs that reflect Park Bo-gum's image and symbolism. The developed Hanbok designs will be unveiled through billboards in major cities around the world, including Seoul, New York, Paris, and Milan, as well as in famous fashion magazines.
