Singer Ailee and her husband, businessman and influencer Choi Si-hoon, expressed their distress over malicious rumors, and upon learning her husband's true feelings, Ailee ended up in tears.
The newlywed Ailee appeared on the tvN STORY ‘Kim Chang-ok Show 3’ broadcast on the 15th, receiving a warm response alongside her new husband Choi Si-hoon.
Hwang Je-seong asked, “I was surprised to hear about your marriage last week. You don’t seem to have any common ground?” Ailee replied, “I met him at a gathering with a close friend. That friend brought him along,” and shared, “The more we talked, the more I found him to be serious and kind. Later, we went to a god concert together, and while clapping, our hands kept bumping into each other, which I didn’t mind. He held my hand first,” recounting their love story.
Although they met and ended up getting married, unexpected worries arose. Ailee cautiously began, “It could be a concern we have to live with for a lifetime,” and continued, “Since my husband has been frequently exposed to the media after our marriage announcement, people compare us or create rumors. He gets hurt a lot by that.”
She added, “My husband works really hard, but people think he’s unemployed. He’s not just an influencer; he has a job as well,” and expressed, “They only see me as the one working and making money, which leads to negative comments. From my perspective, it’s really upsetting to see that.”
Choi Si-hoon, who previously appeared on the Netflix reality show ‘Solo Hell’, opened up, “After going on ‘Solo Hell’, rumors started, and it felt terrible to have my entire life invalidated.”
He confessed, “I didn’t want to be active anymore. I wished people didn’t know. But after marrying my wife, people became interested again. I’m really living hard, and it’s frustrating.”
He also mentioned, “At some point, I stopped hearing what others said, and my expressions disappeared like a robot. I often find myself alone in a room, trying to manage my emotions.”
Hearing this, Ailee eventually shed tears. She said, “If you hadn’t met me, you wouldn’t have to live so hard worrying about what others think, and I feel so sorry for that,” but also expressed, “Still, I’m grateful that you chose me.”
Meanwhile, Ailee and Choi Si-hoon completed their marriage registration last August and are currently living in a newlywed home under joint ownership.
