Japanese rapper and DJ JJJ has suddenly passed away at the age of 35.
On the 14th, JJJ's agency, Space Shower Music, announced on social media, "JJJ peacefully passed away on April 13 at a hospital in Tokyo." The cause of death has not been disclosed.
The agency also stated, "According to the wishes of the family, the funeral will be held with only close relatives present," and added, "We deeply thank the fans, friends, and associates who supported him during his life."
The agency mentioned, "We will provide further information regarding ticket refunds for the upcoming 'the light tour' and other scheduled performances and events. We sincerely apologize to the audience and associates who were looking forward to it," and expressed, "We hope you will continue to love JJJ's music in the future."
JJJ debuted in 2013 as part of the hip-hop unit Fla$hBackS. He later transitioned to a solo career, working as a rapper, DJ, track maker, and producer.
It is reported that JJJ was scheduled to perform on the day of his death, April 13, but canceled due to health issues. He was set to be the headliner for the music festival 'POP YOURS' in May, and had tour performances planned in five locations, including Tokyo, in June and July.
In response to the sudden news of his passing, local fans have expressed reactions such as "Please tell me it's a lie," "Does it make sense to leave so suddenly?" "This is so shocking," "Something feels wrong," "I can't believe it's real," and "I don't understand." Japanese comedian Yasuko, known as a fan of JJJ, posted on social media, "I can't believe it. I have to keep listening to (JJJ's) music," "The sense of loss is immense," and "I feel lonely," as a tribute.
