Broadcaster Park Soo-hong expressed his distress, saying he feels “guilty” as his wife Kim Da-ye's (32) shocking health condition was revealed.

The couple appeared together on the 569th episode of ‘The Return of Superman’ (hereafter ‘Superman is Back’) aired on the 16th to hear the results of Kim Da-ye's health check-up after childbirth.

The two were visibly nervous as they headed to the hospital. Kim Da-ye's weight had increased by 37kg after pregnancy, raising concerns about various symptoms. Park Soo-hong, who received a clean bill of health, expressed his worries, saying, “I’m more worried about my wife, and honestly, I feel scared.”

Unfortunately, the concerns became a reality. On that day, a specialist diagnosed, “Isn’t this the first time Da-ye has had a colonoscopy? There is slight inflammation in the duodenum and colon,” and reported that her liver enzyme levels had increased fourfold compared to before childbirth. He added, “Her health condition is at the level of a 70-year-old grandmother.”

Upon hearing this, Park Soo-hong hugged Kim Da-ye and apologized, saying, “I made you suffer too much.”

The specialist advised, “When liver enzyme levels rise, you easily become fatigued. Your immune levels are also much worse compared to your peers,” adding, “If you lose weight, everything will naturally improve. You can return to normal depending on your efforts. You are gradually recovering, and the swelling has improved.”

Later, in an interview with the production team, Park Soo-hong shared, “My wife has been through a lot of emotional distress due to various incidents. She has physically changed more than I have,” and expressed, “I was worried about my wife, which is why we decided to have a health check-up, but I feel very uneasy.”

He continued, “It seems like my wife is going through something even harder than when I was sick,” lowering his head. He added, “I was unhealthy but got better, while my wife’s health has worsened after pregnancy and childbirth. I feel guilty that only I am getting better. I am determined to take better care of my health for my wife and daughter.”

Meanwhile, the episode recorded a nationwide viewership rating of 3.4% and 3.1% in the metropolitan area.
