Actor Kim Soo-hyun and his agency Gold Medalist denied reports that they had not paid the necessary costs for the compensation lawsuit filed against the family of the late Kim Sae-ron and Kim Se-hee, the representative of the Garoseoro Research Institute.

On the 17th, Kim Soo-hyun's legal representative told Maeil Business Star Today, "The lawsuit filing fee and delivery fee have been paid without any issues," adding, "The request for an extension on the 16th (the correction deadline) was a standard request for address correction."

Previously, the 14th Civil Division of the Seoul Central District Court issued a correction order for the filing fee and delivery fee to Kim Soo-hyun's side on the 2nd. A correction order refers to the court's directive to correct any errors in the procedural actions of the parties involved in the trial process. Typically, the deadline for a correction order is within 7 days from the date of delivery.

On that day, a media outlet reported that Kim Soo-hyun's side had failed to pay approximately 38 million won, the costs for the compensation lawsuit filed against the family of Kim Sae-ron and Kim Se-hee, within the deadline. The filing fee is a legal cost paid when applying for a lawsuit in court, proportional to the amount claimed. The delivery fee is a type of postal charge.

Initially, Kim Soo-hyun's side announced at a press conference on the 1st that they would file a lawsuit for an amount in the range of 12 billion won against the opposing side (the family and Kim Se-hee of the Garoseoro Research Institute), but the officially announced amount to the media was 11 billion won. However, upon fact-checking, it was revealed that a lawsuit claiming an amount of 12 billion won had been submitted to the court. Consequently, the court reportedly instructed that the filing fee and delivery fee be paid based on the 12 billion won claim.

Additionally, Kim Soo-hyun's side submitted a request for an extension of the correction period, which some have criticized as a "delay tactic" to prolong the lawsuit. They also predicted that if the case drags on, the lawsuit itself could be dismissed.

Kim Soo-hyun is currently in conflict with the family of the late Kim Sae-ron, who passed away in February. The family maintains that Kim Soo-hyun and the deceased were in a romantic relationship and demands an official apology. They continue to expose Kim Soo-hyun's private life, leading to disruptions in his drama and advertising schedules amid ongoing controversy.

Alongside this, Kim Soo-hyun completely denied allegations that he had been in a relationship with the late Kim Sae-ron since her minor years during the press conference. He stated, "I did not date her when she was a minor; we met after she became an adult," and added, "I cannot call a lie the truth due to coercion. I will prove it."
