Seohyun, a member of the girl group Girls' Generation and an actress, confessed that she had developed finger arthritis.
On the 16th, a video featuring Seohyun as a guest was released on the YouTube channel 'Hyo-yeon's Level Up', hosted by fellow Girls' Generation member Hyo-yeon.
In the video, Hyo-yeon described Seohyun as someone who "gets really into something and focuses solely on that," and asked, "What have you been most passionate about for the longest time?"
In response, Seohyun said, "The thing I've been most passionate about for the longest time is Girls' Generation. Honestly, that's all I had. I think I liked other things lightly, but I dedicated my whole life to Girls' Generation," which moved Hyo-yeon.
Seohyun also revealed the reason she became so engrossed in playing the piano.
Seohyun explained, "I really like pianist Lim Yoon-chan. When we were taking photos for the 30th anniversary of 'SM TOWN', it was the day tickets for Lim Yoon-chan's recital went on sale. I had to film for Girls' Generation, but I couldn't ask to postpone it because there are so many members, so I asked if I could have my filming time free from 2:55 PM to 3:20 PM."
She shared that she barely succeeded in getting tickets, saying, "I understood our fans' feelings."
Seohyun continued, "I got so into the piano that I played for 10 hours straight. I even made a soundproof room and bought a piano with the mindset that I would play for the rest of my life. I loved the pieces he played so much that I bought all the sheet music. When I started practicing in the morning, it was so fun that I forgot about my hunger and practiced until night. After three months of that, I developed finger arthritis," she said.
She added, "Pianists probably don't have such issues because they play properly, but I was just having fun playing on my own. My finger joints were all swollen, and I couldn't wear any rings. After that, I went to see a professor and have been learning properly. Since learning from the professor, I haven't had arthritis."
Finally, Seohyun expressed, "I have a dream. I want to perform a concerto with an orchestra. But I know that it's a very challenging task for pianists. I want to say, 'What's the big deal?' but I really want to try it."
Seohyun is set to release the movie 'Holy Night: Demon Hunters' on the 30th.
