Comedian Lee Jin-ho (39), who is facing charges of illegal gambling, has been referred to the prosecution.

According to his agency SM C&C on the 17th, Lee Jin-ho was recently sent to the prosecution on charges of illegal gambling.

The police believe that the amount of money Lee Jin-ho spent on illegal online gambling amounts to several hundred million won. It is reported that the money borrowed from fellow entertainers and loan companies during this process amounts to about 2.3 billion won.

Lee Jin-ho revealed through social media last October that he "started playing games on an illegal online gambling site by chance in 2020 and ended up with debts that were hard to manage."

It has been reported that Lee Jin-ho borrowed money from several fellow entertainers, including BTS's Jimin and comedian Lee Soo-geun, adding to the shock.

As a result of the illegal gambling fallout, Lee Jin-ho was dismissed as the ambassador for Hwaseong City and also left the show 'Knowing Bros' in which he was participating.
